Fun at the Beach

It is a lovely sunny day. I am going to the beach with Mum and Dad. We packed the car with food and toys.
I went exploring. I found lots of different shells. If you hold some shells close to your ear, you can hear the sound of the beach. I also found some starfish. They have 5 legs. I collected some shells in my bucket to take home. I want to put them in my room.
I played ball with Mum and Dad. Mum says that I can catch very well.
Wow! I saw a red crab on the sand. Dad says watch out for the claws. They can pinch very hard. Crabs have a hard shell to protect them. There were lots of seagulls flying above. I think they want crab for lunch.
Playing on the beach makes you very hungry. Mum packed us some sandwiches, fruit and juice. It was really yummy.
I love jumping up and down in the water. I took my toy boat to play in the water. I had lots of fun.
I saw a jelly fish on the sand. I was going to touch it but Dad shouted stop! Dad says that the tentacles on a jelly can sting you. I don't want to be stung, so we just looked at it. It looks really beautiful and it is transparent in colour.
Mum and I built a wonderful sand castle together using my building kit. It was massive. I put a red flag at the top.
We decided to take a walk on the beach after lunch. We saw a massive lighthouse. Many years ago, a lighthouse was used to signal ships that land is close by. The sailors could see the bright light from a distance, even in heavy fog.
Dad packed out kites. When the wind picked up, Dad and I decided to fly our kites. It was lots of fun.
I was looking out to the sea while Dad and Mum were packing up, and I spotted some dolphins in the water. There were two of them and they were leaping out of the water. It was amazing to see. I shouted for Mum and Dad, but by the time they came over, the dolphins were gone. I'm glad I got to see them.
We had such an amazing time at the beach. We did so many different things together and had loads of fun. I am so glad I got to see some dolphins. I will never forget this trip to the beach.
